About Us:

Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom
The British Science Association (BSA) is a charity, founded in 1831. Our vision is of a world where science is at the heart of society and culture. We aim to support, grow and diversify the community of people interested and involved in science; and to strengthen their influence over science's direction and place in society. The Norwich Branch was established in Autumn 2016 and is run entirely by volunteers. Please get in touch if you have ideas for events or would like to be involved!

Science Treasure Hunt 2018

Following the success of last years event, the Norwich BSA branch will be putting on another Science Treasure Hunt on Saturday 10th March 2018 as part of British Science Week.

Starting at the Forum, solve clues around Norwich city centre to find our hidden scientists and try out some exciting hands-on activities!

This year you will be able to dive to the ocean deeps, get to grips with plastics, try some solar astronomy, investigate the science behind wind and solar energy and learn all about sustainable farming.

There will also be the chance to enter in a prize draw!

Follow the link to the Science Live event page for all the details and keep an eye out on our social media for sneak peaks and clues leading up to the event - we'll be using the #norwichscihunt hashtag on twitter!

Sci-Comm Stories - TeaTime Science

Hi everyone!

As well as using this blog to showcase our events, I thought it’d be useful to highlight what scientists in Norwich are doing to make their research accessible and interesting for wider audiences. This week I’ve been speaking to Amy Easey and Mike Norman, both Publicity Officers at BSA Norwich, about some of the extra science communication and outreach they do through the TeaTime Science social media accounts.

Museum of the Moon

Hi everyone!

Just a quick update this week about our latest event that took place on the 13th May during the Norfolk & Norwich Festival. We contributed to the science outreach activities at the Museum of the Moon within The Forum in Norwich where a giant inflatable moon (approximately 7m in diameter!) covered in NASA imagery of the lunar surface had been suspended from the ceiling.
